Hudack Leads Seven Patriots On All-ASC Teams

The University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team placed seven players on All-American Southwest Conference teams, led by Dausha Hudack’s first-team nod.

The speedy Hudack (JR/Irving, TX) led the team with 19 points, and was second with six goals.

“I thought she was one of the best players in the ASC,” Patriots head coach Stefami Webb said. “It makes me feel better that the rest of the conference recognized that. She really did a great job for us.”

Four Patriots landed on the All-Conference Second Team, defender Jana Cruce (SR/League City, TX), midfielders Amanda Thomas (FR/Grapevine, TX) and Cara Janton (SR/Little Rock, AR), and forward Lindsey Henrie (SR/McKinney, TX).

Two more UT Tyler players made the All-Conference Third Team, midfielder Jorden Reed (JR/Keller, TX) and goalie Lauren Hufham (FR/Arlington, TX). In all, seven players received honors, and Webb says that’s another indication her program is rising in stature.

“I think we had six All-Conference players last year, and some kids are getting recognition that I wasn’t sure they’d get. That just proves that everybody is looking at us.”

“We only allowed twelve goals all season, so it was really good that they recognize our defenders and our goalkeeper, they played really well for us.”

The Patriots finished the season 12-4-1, 10-2-1 and in third place in the American Southwest Conference. UT Tyler is finishing a four-year provisional status as members of the NCAA, and is not eligible for postseason competition. However, the Patriots would have qualified for the playoffs if eligible.
