Women's Soccer Moves to Semifinals with 4-0 Victory
November 2, 2007

Box Score

ABILENE - The UT Tyler women’s soccer team scored a convincing, 4-0 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor to advance to the semifinal round of the American Southwest Conference soccer tournament.

Friday’s win means UT Tyler will face UT Dallas at 2 p.m. Saturday in Abilene. The Patriots are the No. 3 seed while UT Dallas holds the No. 2 seed.

UT Tyler followed the game plan it has used all year, using a balanced offensive attack in which four different Patriots scored in the shutout victory.

Kendall Kramer gave the Patriots their first goal at 27:31 and the UT Tyler defense held UMHB to just one shot in the first have to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, UT Tyler took five total shots and scored on three of those. All three UT Tyler second half goals came in the final six minutes of the game.

Jorden Reed put UT Tyler up 2-0 in the 85th minute, scoring on an assist from Lauren Daily.

The Patriots stretched their lead to three when Leah Solomon assisted Kasey Kemp on a goal at 85:20, and for good measure, Lauren Daily scored at 88:18 for the final UT Tyler goal.

Overall, UT Tyler took 10 shots to UMHB’s three. Kramer led all Patriots with three shots and two shots on goal. Kemp and Reed had two shots apiece.

Sam Fraser spent all 90 minutes in goal, but did was not forced to make a save.

UT Tyler will face UT Dallas on Saturday. When the two teams met earlier this year in Richardson, a scoreless tie was the result. The Patriots took 12 shots in that game to 11 for UT Dallas.
