Women's Soccer Falls in ASC Title Game

ABILENE - The University of Texas at Tyler women's soccer team fell in the American Southwest Championship game by a score of 2-0 to Hardin-Simmons University on Sunday afternoon in Abilene.
The Cowgirls took a 1-0 lead late in the first half with a goal by sophomore Lindsay Cogburn (Coppell, Texas). Hardin-Simmons would go on to add an insurance goal in the 73rd minute by senior Beth Craig (Midland, Texas) and give themselves the eventual 2-0 win.
The Patriots were outshot in the match 12-4, taking two shots in each half of play. Sophomore Stephanie Masci (Houston, Texas) led UT Tyler with two shots and the only shot on goal for the Patriots. Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Fraser (Lindale, Texas) finished the game with five saves. Masci, Fraser and senior Jorden Reed (Keller, Texas) were the three Patriots who received All-Tournament honors.
The 2007 Patriots finished the season at 13-4-3, their 13 wins are the most in UT Tyler women's soccer history.
