Women's Soccer Ties with TLU

The UT Tyler women's soccer team battled Texas Lutheran to a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon in Seguin.

The tie was UT Tyler's third in an American Southwest Conference game this season and brings their league record to 6-1-3. The Patriots are 8-3-3 overall.

TLU scored first on a goal by Kelli Layden in the 7th minute and the Lady Bulldogs held the 1-0 lead until the 79th minute when Jorden Reed scored on an assist from Lauren Tomas to tie the game.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net during the two overtimes.

The Patriots outshot TLU, 17-10.

UT Tyler returns to the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex for a two-game home stand beginning with East Texas Baptist at 6 p.m. Thursday.
