Women's Soccer in Second Place After 5-1 Win

The University of Texas at Tyler women's soccer team scored five second-half goals to down LeTourneau, 5-1, Thursday night in American Southwest Conference soccer action.
The win moves the Patriots (9-3-3, 7-1-3 ASC) into second place in the ASC with two games left in the regular season. UT Tyler trails only undefeated Hardin-Smmons in the league standings.
LeTourneau's Amanda Norton scored the only goal of the first half, at 4:20, to give the YellowJackets the one goal advantage going into the break. This came despite being a 15-2 shot advantage for the Patriots.
In took seven minutes into the second half before UT Tyler got on the board, but the goal by Lauren Dailey in the 53rd minute jump-started the dormant Patriots' offense.
Lauren Thomas found the back of the net at 68:33, with Jorden Reed providing her second assist of the game, to give UT Tyler the lead for the first time in the game, 2-1.
Leah Solomon assisted Alina Kilkenney at 76:23 to give the Patriots a 3-1 advantage, and Solomon added an unassisted goal of her own at 81:48. Kendall Kramer's goal in the 87th minute gave UT Tyler its final goal of the night and the 5-1 win. Solomon also assisted on that goal.
Overall, the Patriots took 29 shots to LeTourneau's four.
Sam Fraser allowed just the one LeTourneau goal in 78-minutes as keeper. Lauren Hufham spend the final 12-minutes in goal for the Patriots.
UT Tyler plays its final home game of the season Saturday against East Texas Baptist. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the CItizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
