Women's Soccer Ends Curse of Ties

Four first-half goals from four different Patriots propelled UT Tyler to a 5-0 win over Louisiana College in the American Southwest Conference home opener for the Patriots at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex Thursday night.
UT Tyler completely dominated the game, taking 39 shots while preventing Louisiana College from making a single attempt offensively.
After starting conference play with two frustrating ties, against Ozarks and Texas-Dallas, the win gives UT Tyler a 1-0-2 record in conference plan and a 3-2-2 mark overall. Louisiana College is now 3-4 (2-1).
Jorden Reed rocketed in a shot from the far right side of the box at 8:09 to put the Patriots on the board and trigger an offensive explosion for UT Tyler.
Five-minutes later, at 13:02, Jessica Pierce provided her first of two assists on the night as she setup Alina Kilkenney for the Patriots' second goal.
Kasey Kemp reached the back of the net at 22:52 and Leah Malone scored in the 39th minute to put UT Tyler up 4-0 at the half.
Kemp gave UT Tyler the 5-0 win with her second goal of the night in the 58th minute on an assist from Chelsea Fiscus.
Lauren Hufham and Morgan Dux split the goalkeeping duties for the Patriots, but saw no action. Reed and Kendall Kramer each had four shots for UT Tyler.
Mississippi College will be in town Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against the Patriots.
