Women’s Soccer’s Dux Earns ASC Defensive Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas - Junior Morgan Dux of The University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team was named the first American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of Week of the 2009 season on Tuesday by the league office.
Dux started both games for the Patriots on the week and did not allow a goal over 135 minutes of play. In addition, the Hurst native helped guide UT Tyler to a 1-1 week by posting nine saves over two games and recording a solo shutout in her team’s 2-0 win over LSU-Shreveport.
Kiera Ruck of Concordia (Tex.) earned the fist offensive honor of the new year by scoring two goals as her team went 1-0-1.
The Patriots will return to action on Friday, when they travel to San Antonio, Texas, to take on Trinity (Tex.) in non-conference action. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
