Women’s Soccer Scores Big Win Over Louisiana

BULLARD, Texas – The University of Texas at Tyler played ninety minutes of near flawless women’s soccer on Saturday morning in a 9-0 American Southwest Conference victory over Louisiana College at The Brook Hill School’s Herrington Stadium in Bullard.

In the match, the Patriots (4-2, 2-0) set a new school single-game record by taking 54 shots on the day, with 41 of those shots going on goal.

Defensively, UT Tyler was equally as impressive by not allowing the Wildcats (0-8, 0-2) to get off a single shot in the contest.

Senior Alina Kilkenny-DeAvila (Tyler, Texas) scored the first goal of the day for UT Tyler in the ninth minute off of a pass from freshman Lindsey Edwards (Katy, Texas).

Kilkenny-DeAvila along with sophomore Emily Bechdol (Cedar Hill, Texas) each ended the day with two goals, while Kilkenny-DeAvila also added an assist.

Juniors Lauren Thomas (College Station, Texas), Leah Solomon (Schertz, Texas), Kasey Kemp (Colleyville, Texas) Kendall Kramer (Houston, Texas) and Leah Malone (Lewisville, Texas) also added one goal to the Patriots’ tally in the match

Seniors Sam Fraser (Lindale, Texas) and Lauren Hufham (Arlington, Texas) and junior Morgan Dux (Hurst, Texas) all spent time between the posts in the match and were each credited with a combined shutout.

The Patriots will return to action on Friday when they travel to West Texas to take on the defending ASC Champions, Hardin-Simmons, at 2 p.m. in Abilene.
