Business Affairs Mission Statement
The mission of the Division of Business Affairs is to manage UT Tyler business operations in a manner that facilitates the achievement of the university's teaching, research, and public service objectives while safeguarding the financial well-being of the institution.
Business Affairs Philosophy
UT Tyler Business Affairs is committed to a total quality management (TQM) approach to accomplishing its mission. TQM is best described as a focus on customers, core processes, and teamwork. The Business Affairs philosophy is as follows:
- Focus on customer needs; exceed customer expectations.
- Focus on critical success factors and core competencies; ignore or outsource everything else.
- Hire and support leaders and professionals; allow leaders to make mistakes--expect them to learn from their mistakes.
- Require initiative, quality work, continuous improvement, performance, accountability, diplomacy, and ethical conduct.
