VISION STATEMENT
The vision of the Office of Career Services at The University of Texas at Tyler is to be recognized by the University community as the premier resource for providing state-of-the-art services, programs and events to meet the comprehensive career development needs of students and alumni.
MISSION STATEMENT
As a component of The University of Texas at Tyler, the mission of the Office of Career Services is to provide guidance and resources to students and alumni in their career development as they make career decisions, develop job search strategies, and pursue experiential opportunities and employment.
We further strive to promote faculty involvement in the career development process through collaborative relationships and classroom presentations.
This is accomplished by:
- providing assistance in various initiatives such as self awareness, career exploration, job search, resume writing, and interview preparation,
- developing collaborative partnerships with business, government, education, and community services,
- promoting an understanding of the relationship of education to work.
By serving as advisor and catalyst, the Office of Career Services seeks to assist students with their job search. This process does not guarantee employment, for that decision must be made exclusively between the job seeker and the employer. The Office of Career Services serves as a place where students and alumni can prepare and implement the job campaign to successfully secure employment.
