Tuition & Fee Refund Schedule
If a student formally drops one or more courses through the Registrar's Office, the University will refund applicable tuition and fees collected for courses from which a student drops within the first 12 days of a fall, spring or summer session of 10 weeks or longer and within the first 4 days of a summer term, provided the student remains enrolled at the institution for that semester or term. Refunds for courses dropped by a student who later in the semester or term withdraws from the institution will be calculated according to the following schedule:
Summer Long 2013
Partial Withdrawals
- From registration through May 29, 2013: 100%
- After May 29, 2013: No refund
Complete Withdrawals
- Prior to May 15, 2013: 100%
- From May 15 through May 20, 2013: 80%
- From May 21 through May 25, 2013: 70%
- From May 26 through June 1, 2013: 50%
- From June 2 through June 7, 2013: 25%
- After June 8, 2013: No refund
Summer I
Partial Withdrawals
- From registration through June 6, 2013: 100%
- After June 6, 2013: No refund
Complete Withdrawals
- Prior to June 3, 2013: 100%
- June 3, 2013: 80%
- June 4, 2013: 50%
- After June 4, 2013: No refunds
Summer II
Partial Withdrawals
- From registration through July 11, 2013: 100%
- After July 11, 2013: No refund
Complete Withdrawals
- Prior to July 8, 2013: 100%
- July 8, 2013: 80%
- July 9, 2013: 50%
- After July 9, 2013: No refund
For refunds, the effective date of withdrawal will be the date when the withdrawal is officially completed and recorded by the Registrar's office. If the university cancels a scheduled course of instruction, all fees will be refunded. No refunds will be made unless applied for in the same school year as withdrawal. Immediate refund will not be made to students who withdraw during the refund period. Normally, a refund will be made within 30 days from the last day of scheduled refunds to the student's chosen refund preference (check or P2 card).
All policies regarding the payment or refunding of tuition, fees, and charges comply with applicable statutes and are approved by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System. If a person desires clarification of any matter relating to payment or refund of such charges, or believes special circumstances warrant exceptions to the published policy, the Office of Business Affairs at UT Tyler should be contacted.

Partial Withdraw from the University
An undergraduate student is enrolled in 12 hours and is charged $2,888 in tuition and fees calculated as follows:
Resident Tuition $600
Designated Tuition $1,548
Student Service Fee $132
Mandatory Fee $428
Instructional Support Fee $180
Total of Tuition and Fees $2,888
The student drops 3 hours on May 23, 2013. The student's refund is calculated as follows:
Resident Tuition $150 3 hrs x $50 per SCH
Designated Tuition $387 3 hrs x $129 per SCH
Student Service Fee $33 3 hrs x $11 per SCH
Mandatory Fee $36
Total Tuition and Fees Refundable $606*
Refund percentage x 100% 100% through May 24, 2013
Total Refund $606
The same student above enrolled in 12 hours drops the 3 hours on May 25, 2013 instead of the date in the example above. The student's refund is calculated as follows
