The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law offers programs to prepare students for professional success in accounting and finance, and courses to support undergraduate and graduate programs of the College of Business and Technology.
UT Tyler accounting and finance majors are taught by an enthusiastic faculty who bring extensive business backgrounds to the classroom and take special interest in students' career goals. Our students learn with a curriculum designed to meet current and emerging needs of today's businesses.
Students also have opportunities to engage in dynamic student organizations and with local and regional employers and constituencies.
The department offers business law courses to satisfy:
- Business core requirements of the bachelor of business administration degree.
- Business law and ethics requirements of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to sit for the CPA exam.
The CBT has also specifically identified marketable skills that are obtained as you get a degree from one of the majors in the college. These skills were developed through input from our industry partners and reflect the skills they want of our graduates. By having these marketable skills, you have an advantage in getting and succeeding in a job upon graduation.
