She serves as Chair of Tenure and promotion and is President of the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter. Her research interest focuses on entrepreneurial assistance, labor market, and wage and benefit, and case studies. She does management training, feasibility studies, and market research projects for the community.

  • Clayton AllenE-mail Dr. Clayton Allen, Professor and Technology Department Chairman. Dr. Allen completed his doctoral studies at East Texas State University and post doctoral work at Mississippi State University. Dr. Allen is responsible program development and implementation. He coordinates departmental graduate programs including the Cooperative Doctorate with Texas A&M University.
  • Rita L. DobbsE-mail Dr. Dobbs, Assistant Professor.  Dr. Dobbs completed her doctoral studies in Educational Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University in College Station.  Her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees were completed at Texas A&M University, Commerce. Dr. Dobbs serves as Graduate Coordinator for the Department of HRD and Technology and is responsible for advising the HRD graduate option for the Master of Science in Technology/HRD degree. She also advises students participating in the cooperative Ph.D program with TAMU.
  • Sheldon DunhamE-mail Dr. Dunham, Associate Professor.  Dr. Dunham received his Ed.D. in College Teaching and Technical Subjects from East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas in 1987.  His current responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, student advisement, accreditation, and overall stability of the industrial technology option. He currently serves as coordinator of the technology applications laboratory, Sigma Tau Epsilon advisor, and liaison with regional manufacturing community.
  • John FabacE-mail Dr. Fabac, Associate Professor.  Dr. Fabac began his career as an electronics technician and instructor in the US Air Force. Upon completing his Doctoral Studies at the University of Illinois (Urbana/Champaign) became the Division Chairman for Industrial Programs at the El Paso Community College. Dr. Fabac is responsible for the Industrial Distribution, Trade and Industrial Education and Technical Professions options within the B.S. in Technology. He also advises students in the B.S. in Training and Development.
  • Tommy GilbreathE-mail Dr. Gilbreath, Associate Professor in Technology.  Dr. Gilbreath received his BS degree from Sul Ross State University. He taught drafting in the El Paso, Texas public schools from 1964 to 1968. He was an NDEA fellow at Texas A&M University from 1968-71 where he received his masters and doctorate.
  • James HarbaughE-mail Dr. Harbaugh, Associate Professor.  Dr. Harbaugh teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Technology. He obtained a B.S. In Industrial Education from Iowa State University. He obtained an MS in Technical and Vocational Education from Central Missouri State University. He received a D.Ed. In Industrial Education from Texas A&M University.
  • Mark MillerE-mail Dr. Miller, Professor in Technology.  Dr. Miller earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Education at Texas A&M University in 1993 while teaching as a full time lecturer in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Department.  He earned a M.A.E. in Industrial Education at Ball State University in 1983 and a B.S. degree in Industrial Arts Education at the State University of New York, College at Buffalo in 1982. Dr. Miller has almost 20 years of teaching experience in higher education and 6 years teaching experience at the secondary level.  Prior to his appointment at UT Tyler, he was the chairman of the Industrial Technology Department at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  While chair, he tripled the department’s enrollment and established their first graduate program.  Dr. Miller also reactivated the department’s honor society after 45 years of inactivity.Over the years, Dr. Miller has written or revised more than 20 textbooks in the field of technology.  He has also published a number of refereed articles and made numerous presentations at various national conferences.  Dr. Miller has also obtained over a half million dollars in new equipment and software grants.  Dr. Miller serves on the National Association of Industrial Technology Board of Certification where he recently developed a study guide for the organization’s certification exam.  He also serves on the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Student Relations Subcommittee.  Dr. Miller serves as an academic advisor for the department’s Industrial Technology graduate and undergraduate program options.
  • Paul RobertsE-mail Dr. Roberts, Associate Professor. B.S., M.D., Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Ed.D., Texas A&M University.   Dr. Roberts is responsible for the Technology Systems (Technology Education) option within the B.S. In Technology. He also advises students in the MS in Technology as well as the candidates for the Vocational Supervisors Certification. He is also the Director of the Technology Education Professional Development Grant.
