Hibbs Fellows are distinguished scholars associated with the Hibbs Institute of Business & Economic Research. We applaud their accomplishments and appreciate their contributions to research and economic development of our region.
Dr. Marilyn Young, UT Tyler professor of management and a Hibbs Fellow, Professor of Management, conducts frequent labor market surveys as well as wage and benefits surveys for local area chambers of commerce. As such, her experience and expertise prove invaluable in promoting regional economic planning and growth. She recently presented and published a 25-year summary (1989-2014) of labor market data and related the research to underutilization and hidden unemployment. The article, Hidden Unemployment and Underutilization of Labor: A Challenge for Human Resource Managers, was published in the fall, 2015 in the Journal of Economics and Economic Education Research.
