Teaching and Research Interests
Dr. Jones teaches Consumer Behavior, Retailing, and International Marketing. He conducts research related to shopper marketing, and shopper value. He also examines the impact of the relationships of brands with retailers and consumers.
Dr. Jones joined the faculty at UT Tyler at the start of the Fall 2012 semester. Prior to joining the UT Tyler faculty he was a senior retail executive and consultant. His executive career included merchandising, planning, brand and product development, for television retailers, department and specialty stores. He has consulted on product and brand development for traditional and on-line retailers, educational products and institutions. He has published in Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, The International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing at Retail. Dr. Jones has also published a chapter on Consumer Behavior at Retail in Marketing at Retail. Dr. Jones is a member of the Higher Education Advisory Board for the Category Management Association and Secretary of the American Collegiate Retail Association.
