·  The University of Texas at Brownsville

·  The University of Texas at Dallas

·  The University of Texas at El Paso

Purpose

As the size and diversity of the population of Texas increase, the responsibility of the state to provide more opportunities for higher education also rises. The MBA Online uses distance education technologies to forward its mission to provide superior instruction and learning opportunities to students from a wide range of social, ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds. The MBA Online program provides affordable advanced education to students who might not otherwise be able to participate due to a variety of reasons, such as work, family or geographical constraints.

Course Registration

Students accepted into the MBA Online program must notify the Graduate Program Coordinator of their intent to take a specific MBA Online course. The Graduate Program Coordinator will notify the student of their eligibility to register for the selected MBA Online course. Students must complete the registration process by completing and submitting a registration and Inter-Institutional Distance Education Admission and Registration (IDEAR) form downloaded from the following web site [http://uttelecampus.utsystem.edu/programs/Registrar/IDEAR.pdf].  Completed forms are sent to the Graduate Program Coordinator for approval and submission to  UT Tyler's Registrar for processing. The UT Tyler Registrar bills the student for tuition and fees (approximately $600 per course plus out-of-state fees, if appropriate) and forwards the IDEAR form to the registrar at the campus delivering the course. By using the IDEAR form, students enrolled in the MBA Online program do not have to be formally admitted to all eight consortium schools.

MBA Online Support Services

The UT TeleCampus is a virtual campus dedicated to support services for distance education students and faculty within The UT System. It is comprised of eight virtual buildings (Registrar, Student Services, Library, Classrooms, Faculty, K-12, Information and Commons) which house various departments similar to those found on a traditional campus. Some of the TeleCampus resources include an online course schedule, digital library services, online bookstores, learning and instruction resources, chat rooms, links to important information at the component institutions (such as admissions, financial aid, registration), and much more. MBA Online courses are built using the TeleCampus tools which provides an interactive relationship between a course and the TeleCampus which allow students and faculty to access course information, such as syllabi, "lecture" material, tests and grades through the Classrooms Building.

The UT System Digital Library   provides access to all of the digital resources for each university. It includes links to the universities' library information (website, catalog, and contacts), as well as an information literacy tutorial and an extensive listing of reference resources, databases, and news sources.

The MBAO program is administered in accordance with the MBAO Handbook of Operating Procedures and under the guidance of the Academic and Executive Committees. Committee members are representatives from each of eight UT Campuses that participate in the MBAO program.

In addition to the online MBA program, The University of Texas at Tyler offers an on-campus program and a joint MBA and Masters of Nursing Science (MSN) degree program.   The University of Texas at Tyler   provides information on these other programs.
