Narrative Biography
Mark Washburn currently serves as Senior Lecturer in Accounting, Department of Business Administration, in the College of Business and Technology. Mr. Washburn also serves as faculty advisor for the Accounting Society. His research interests include current and emerging issues involving taxpayer compliance with the tax code, reducing the tax gap, and excessive executive compensation. He is licensed as a certified public accountant by the State of Texas (Certificate No. 66480) and a member of several academic and professional organizations, including the American Accounting Association, the Accounting Information Systems Educators’ Association, American Tax Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Washburn is a regular presenter at the Accounting Education and Research Forum and recently contributed a four hour seminar for the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs semi-annual Continuing Education Forum.
