College of
Business and Technology
Welcome
to the College of Business and Technology. Our College,
established in August 2001, is the result of the merger of the
College of Business Administration and the Department of Technology,
which was part of the College of Education. Both units have
been a key part of the University of Texas at Tyler for over 25
years. The faculty and staff here are committed to student
achievement and success. The College
prepares students to be graduates who serve the needs of business
organizations not only in East Texas, but the Unites States and many
foreign countries. The Department of Business Administration
prepares students at both the Bachelor's and Master's level for
careers which require accounting, finance, management, or marketing
competencies. The Department of Technology prepares students
at the Bachelor's and Master's level for career areas in industry
such as distribution, safety, technology, and training and
development.
We see
students from both departments developing characteristics such as
the ability to:
-
Apply course related knowledge to
real-world problems and opportunities
Use important and relevant
information for effective and efficient decision making
-
Utilize a strong network of fellow
students, faculty, and business/community leaders to address
common issues
-
Make decisions that are both
efficient and effective
-
Establish and build career momentum
Alumni,
community leaders, employees, and prospective students all ask
challenging questions about our College. For answers, we
