Civil engineers use complex technology and a strong knowledge base in science, mathematics and engineering to creatively solve society's problems. Civil engineers shape the world we live in, creating the transportation networks we use to deliver goods globally, providing life-sustaining water supply systems, guiding environmental protection and remediation, designing structural supports for soaring bridges and skyscrapers, stabilizing the earth beneath our feet, and directing construction projects from the cradle to completion through the structural, hydrology, transportation, construction, geotechnical, environmental, and surveying disciplines of civil engineering.
With a degree in civil engineering from The University of Texas at Tyler, you will
be well prepared to conceptualize, plan, design, construct and operate facilities
essential to modern life, from highway exchanges and major bridges to hospitals, airports
and launch pads.
