Students in UT Tyler's civil engineering bachelor of science degree program engage in basic science and engineering science with an emphasis in engineering design. They are taught and mentored by faculty who are completely student-focused and dedicated to professional excellence.
The keystone of the civil engineering B.S. degree program is a two-semester senior experience, where students take on design projects in the real world.
Civil engineering majors can further enhance their learning experiences through involvement in organizations such as the UT Tyler Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
UT Tyler offers the master of science degree program in civil engineering with three options:
- The research option is designed primarily for students who wish to conduct research and expand their knowledge in civil engineering.
- The professional practice option is intended primarily for students who plan to practice civil engineering at the professional level.
- The technical and management development option is geared toward practicing engineers who want to enhance their technical skills and develop management skills.
