Dr. Alisa White (Ph.D., University of Tennessee) serves as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Communication. Dr. White's professional experience includes media planning and research at a Georgia advertising and public relations firm, part ownership of a Tennessee medium-market radio station, and serving as an editor for Spirit Life books. Dr. White currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Foundation for Advertising Education of the Southwest, 10th District American Advertising Federation. Dr. White's work has been published in the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, the Journal of Creative Behavior, the Journal of Mass Media Ethics, the Journal of Radio Studies, and the Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court. Her current research focuses on perception of advertising creativity and media ethics.
   

Dr. Dennis Cali (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication. Dr. Cali teaches in the areas of rhetorical criticism, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, media literacy, and media ethics. His scholarly articles have appeared in Communication Studies, The Journal of Mass Media Ethics, and The Journal of Communication and Religion, among others. He is also the author of the books Generic Criticism of American Public Address and Faith and the Media as well as other book chapters investigating how faith shapes the field of communication. Dr. Cali is a member of several national and international professional communication associations and serves on the editorial board of the New Journal of Rhetorical Studies.

   
Ms. Vanessa Curry (MSIS, The University of Texas at Tyler) serves as Lecturer of Journalism and adviser to the award-winning Patriot Talon, the student newspaper at UT Tyler. In the past seven years Talon staff members have won more than 100 awards from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association. In 2007, Ms. Curry was named TIPA Adviser of the Year. She also has appeared on A&E's City Confidential and Court TV's Forensic Files as a media expert on the Baker Steven Lucas murder trial. Her research on government compliance with the Texas Public Information Act has earned her the FOI Award and Sweepstakes Award from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors and the James Madison Award from the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas.
   
Dr. Michael E. Eidenmuller (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) serves as Associate Professor of Speech Communication. Dr. Eidenmuller teaches Communication Theory, Religious Communication, Advanced Public Speaking, Contemporary Rhetoric, and Speech Fundamentals. Research interests include the rhetorical theory and criticism of evangelicalism and the interpersonal uses of private prayer. Dr. Eidenmuller is the author of a book/cd project with McGraw-Hill entitled Great Speeches for Better Speaking and is the founder of American Rhetoric: The Power of Oratory in the United States, an internationally-recognized, educational website dedicated to rhetoric & public address. Dr. Eidenmuller serves as campus co-coordinator for the Bill Archer Washington D.C. Fellowship-Internship program and also serves on the Religious Communication Association's Executive Board and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Communication & Religion.

Dr. Naomi Kagawa (Ph.D., The University of Minnesota at Twin Cities) serves as Assistant Professor of Speech Communication. Dr. Kagawa teaches Interpersonal communication, Intercultural communication, Listening, Small group communication, Nonverbal communication, and Gender communication. Research interests include perspective taking and understanding in family relationship, role of family communication in adolescents' identity development, and the influence of family communication on adolescents' psychological well-being.

   

Dr. Marsha Little Matthews (Ph.D., The University of Oklahoma) serves as Assistant Professor of Journalism, Graduate Program Coordinator for Communication, and Coordinator for the undergraduate program in Journalism. Dr. Matthews teaches Writing for Mass Media, Writing for Public Relations and Advertising, Principles of Public Relations, Public Relations and Advertising Campaigns, and Media Design. Research interests include meaning making, creativity and loss, the relationship of meaning making and critical thinking, and sense making in public relations/communication campaign development. Articles have appeared in the Journal of the Philosophy and History of Education. She serves as a faculty Senator representing the College of Arts and Sciences and also serves as Secretary for the University Faculty Senate.
