School of Education Faculty Position Annoucements

The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for faculty positions in the School of Education. At The University of Texas at Tyler, we are creating solutions today for a better tomorrow through research, teaching, and service to schools and the professional education community. As part of one of the state’s fastest growing universities, the School of Education provides excellent opportunities for research in a field-based setting, grantsmanship and teaching. Two positions selected from the following areas of expertise are available. Candidates with qualifications in multiple areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Early Childhood Education: Assistant Professor, tenure track. Earned doctorate in early Childhood Education or related field.  

Educational Psychology: Assistant Professor, tenure track. earned doctorate in educational psychology, potential for scholarly productivity, evidence of outstanding teaching. 

Literacy Education:  Assistant Professor, tenure track. Earned doctorate in Literacy Education.  Preference will be given to candidates interested in developing funded research projects.

Special Education:  Assistant Professor, tenure track. Earned doctorate in special education with emphasis in assessment, mild/moderate, or severe/multiple disabilities. 

Responsibilities of all positions include research, teaching courses that serve the undergraduate K-12 education degree programs that prepare teacher candidates for initial licensure, as well as Master's in Education courses, supervision of field experiences and student teaching, collaboration with public schools, as well as service on appropriate department and college committees.

Minimal qualifications include the completion of the Ed.D. or Ph.D. in appropriate education field.  A minimum of three years of experience in teaching in a public school classroom is required. For the Educational Psychology position equivalent experience will be considered.
