Undergraduate Students

Before you complete Phase II or Block 2, you need to have completed 3 hours of TExES Preparation coursework. This is a Texas Administration Code requirement--it is NOT a UT Tyler requirement.
We have face-to-face options available to you and online options (online course).
Face to Face Options:
- September 15 from 9:00 – noon in BEP 218
- October 5 from 9:00 – noon in BEP 218
- November 3 from 9:00 – noon in BEP 218
- December 3 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in BUS 210
- January 18 from 9:00 – noon in BEP 218
- February 9 from 9:00 – noon in HPR 253
- March 4 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in BEP 218
- April 5 from 9:00 – noon in BEP 218

- Practice TExES Exams at UT Tyler
The practice TExES exam is for all currently enrolled Phase III/Block 3 or Phase
IV/Block 4 students. There are two practice tests offered on each exam date:
the EC-12 PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) and the EC-6
Generalist for EC-6 certification students only. You may only take one test on
each exam date.
You must register for the exam by submitting a registration form for the test date. Registration forms are always due the Tuesday prior to the exam date by 5:00pm.
There is a $10 exam fee. You pay this fee one time (and submit to the Office of
Clinical Experiences with the registration form) and can take the practice test
as many times as you wish at no additional charge.

How do you get to these review materials? You go to the T-CERT site. If you haven't registered, just do so and they will send you an email telling you how to proceed. It is easy breezy and the materials are free.

Professional Development Opportunities

Smith County's Champion for Children organization is hosting the Brighter Futures Symposium "Building Better Brains through Movement". The symposium will feature Jean Blaydes Madigan. The Symposium is taking place on Friday, February 22, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The cost for students is $25 (a 50% discount) and you can also earn .6 CEU's at this event.
