UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENT - Social and Emotional Learning - A Conversation with Scarlett Lewis
The University of Texas at Tyler College of Education and Psychology is collaborating with our local school districts and the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement to help ensure we are meeting the social, emotional and academic learning needs of our community.
After her 6-year-old son, Jesse Lewis, alongside 19 of his classmates and 6 educators, was murdered in his first grade classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary, Scarlett Lewis founded the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement and dedicated her life to helping teachers and counselors implement Social and Emotional Learning. We have arranged for Scarlett Lewis to visit with teachers and staff to discuss the benefits of Social and Emotional Learning.
Scarlett will also be hosting an evening for parents and community to join the conversation. “Social Emotional Learning – A Conversation with Scarlett Lewis” will take place at 6 p.m. May 29 in the University Center Theater on the UT Tyler campus. We look forward to seeing you there. For more information on this event please CLICK HERE.
