Dancel

Dancel Maxwell, Cohort 1 (12/2012)

Undergraduate Institution: UT Tyler-Longview Campus

Current position/place of employement: Assistant Chief Nursing Officer/Baylor Scott & White, Texas Spine & Joint, Tyler, Texas

How did the EHCA-MPA program support your career goals? "I completed a semester in the MBA and MSN programs, but the degree plans were not focused to my position in healthcare administration.  Nursing school does not prepare you for the business and leadership skills necessary to succeed as a leader in the acute healthcare setting.  The EHCA-MPA program was a perfect fit to expand my knowledge on human resources, finance, research, and leadership."

What did you like most about the EHCA-MPA program? "The program is structured to accommodate busy professionals with a succinct and carefully thought out schedule.  The classes were very relevant to my work and I was able to immediately use the information and tools I learned throughout the program.  I appreciated the coordination of intensive weeks and the availability of the professors remotely.  I recommend this program to all new nursing leaders."

How will the EHCA-MPA program support your career goals? "My career goals are to combine the following; an Executive level status in a healthcare facility, attain an associate professor level position at an academic institution since I have a passion for teaching, and continue to work clinically as a Physician Assistant in a prat-time role. The EHCA program will provide me the knowledge and confidence to attain these goals."

What do you like most about the EHCA-MPA program? I respect the faculty and staff members in this program.  They are here for you and your needs at any time whether academically or providing any other supporting role to help you succeed in your pursuit of excellence in the Health Care Administration program."

Brandon

Brandon Hollis, Cohort 7 (12/2018)

Undergraduate Institution: Paine College, Augusta, Georgia

How will the EHCA-MPA program support your career goals? "My career goals are to become an administrator at a healthcare rehabilitation facility. The EHCA program will help provide me the knowledge and experience to do so."

What do you like most about the EHCA-MPA program? "In the EHCA program, the professors have actually worked in the field in which they are teaching.  This was very important to me as a professional, to have a professor that could teach theory, but also application. The aspect I admire most is the faculty and staff associated with my program are available at a moment's notice to help with any problem or address any concern."
