DISCIPLINARY STATEMENT

Employment is a mutual agreement and may be ended by either the employee or UT Tyler. If an employee’s job performance, conduct, or attendance is considered unsatisfactory or inappropriate, management may initiate disciplinary action, suspension without pay, or the involuntary separation of the employee. The selection of disciplinary action will be determined by the severity of the infraction and management’s previous efforts to counsel the employee, if appropriate. All formal disciplinary actions are documented in the personnel file. Verbal and departmental counseling documents are retained in the employee’s department. A detailed description of the disciplinary process and reasons for discipline is provided in the Handbook of Operating Procedures.
