APPEALS

Appeals may be filed to protest dismissal or suspension without pay. Employees will be provided the appeal procedure at the time of the action and must begin the appeal process within five (5) working days. The appeal process is also located in the Handbook of Operating Procedures. If an employee has questions or needs assistance with the appeal process he/she may contact Human Resources.

The appeal procedures do not apply to UT Tyler Police; employees separated due to a reduction in force; separations due to loss of funds, financial emergency, or reorganization; or to employees separated during their probationary period. There is a modified appeals process for faculty members that is detailed in the Handbook of Operating Procedures.
