VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE
If a department head, supervisor or employee experiences or observes aggressive, threatening, or odd behavior, he/she should immediately contact Human Resources.
Situations occurring outside office hours should be handled by reporting the situation to the supervisor. If deemed necessary, the employee should be suspended with pay until an appointment can be arranged with Human Resources and/or the Employee Assistance Program.
If at any time the department head, supervisor or employee experiences or witnesses physical contact or threats, the UT Tyler Police Department should be contacted immediately. In no case should a department head, supervisor or employee attempt to deal with a potentially volatile situation alone.
