Braithwaite Recital Hall

David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Recital Hall is the premiere chamber music venue of the region and regularly hosts solo recitals and small chamber performances. It seats 161 patrons in three sections, with ample access for those with physical disabilities. The school's Steinway concert grand piano, hand selected in New York by our faculty, resides on the stage for solo and accompanying work. A second Steinway is also available for duo-piano and concerto work.

The primary use of the Braithwaite Recital Hall is to function, first and foremost, as a recital and rehearsal venue for the students, faculty and staff of the School of Performing Arts. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the School of Performing Arts to maintain that these specific needs and university curriculum requirements take priority before reviewing and approving outside requests.

UT Tyler faculty and staff can request the Braithwaite Recital Hall or Meadows Gallery Lobby by logging into Astra

External clientele are welcome to request this optimum music venue for recitals, readings, etc. Please use the online event request form found here.
