JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for at least two tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2014. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 2014. Candidates must have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and master's level and a commitment to continuing their research. We are looking for Candidates who are compatible with existing research areas as well as those who can broaden the scope of the department. The usual teaching load will be three courses per semester with two preparations. JOB TITLE: Tenure-track Artist Teacher of Voice
DEPARTMENT: Music

JOB TITLE: Visiting Assistant Professor in Art History
DEPARTMENT: Department of Art and Art History

STATUS: Active

The Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Tyler is accepting applications for a new position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History.

Required: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in art history, or be ABD and a documented research/scholarly activity commensurate with field, a willingness to engage on a personal level with students and collegial participation with other faculty members and at least one year of teaching experience.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching art history in support of undergraduate and graduate studio and art history majors earning BA, BFA, MA and MFA degrees. The person who fills this position will teach a 3/3 course load and a variety of art history courses which could include Introduction to Art, Art History Survey, and upper-division courses in areas of teaching specialty (open).   Graduate or post-graduate teaching experience preferred. The ability and desire to teach online or hybrid classes is desirable.

The Department of Art and Art History: Art majors number approximately 100 undergraduates and12 graduate students. We moved into the new Fine Arts Complex in January adding 30,000 sq. ft. of first rate teaching area, now totaling approximately 50,000 sq. ft. Our exclusive art teaching complex offers Individual studio classrooms for each studio discipline as well as a 100 seat lecture hall and graduate teaching seminar spaces. The department maintains two gallery spaces on campus and is growing rapidly. Our focus is on attracting high ability students and developing exceptional programs.

At the graduate level, the College offers nine discipline-based master's degrees.

Appointment and Application Information: This is a non-tenure earning visiting assistant professor. It is anticipated that an additional search will be conducted for the 2014-15 academic year. Hire will be eligible to apply for the 2014-15 position which will be a tenure track position with an anticipated starting date for the fall semester 2014. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
