Faculty Positions

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Tyler invites nominations and applications for Chair of the Department of Computer Science.

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in computer science, computer information systems, or a closely related field; excellent communication and leadership skills; and a record of excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, scholarship, and service. A demonstrated ability to develop a strong externally funded research program in emerging area(s) of computer science is expected. The candidate's record of teaching, scholarship, and research should warrant appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure. Responsibilities of the chair include administrating the department and leading the growth of its programs; recruiting and retaining high-quality faculty and students; developing, maintaining, and promoting an environment of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and research; planning for CAC/ABET accreditation; establishment of collaborative relationships with business, industry, and government organizations; and development of significant external funding.

Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Construction Management at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications a tenure track assistant professor. The successful candidate for the Assistant/ Associate professor position will have an earned doctorate in construction management or a closely related field, demonstrated English communication skills, and demonstrated leadership in teaching, research, scholarship, and service appropriate for his or her experience. The successful candidate also must demonstrate the potential to develop a sustainable externally funded research program involving undergraduates. All areas of specialization within construction management will be considered. Experience with external program accreditation (ABET-TAC or ACCE) is preferred.

The Department of Construction Management is the newest component of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, which supports a quality learning environment with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories in the Ratliff Engineering and Science Complex. Lecturer positions

The Department of Construction Management at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for two lecturer positions. One of the lecturers will be housed on the main campus in Tyler, the second lecturer will be housed on the satellite campus in Longview, about 40 miles from the main campus.

The successful candidates for the lecturer positions will have an earned Master’s degree from an accredited university in Construction Management or closely related field. Three to five years of experience in the construction management field or an area of specialization within construction management is preferred. Candidates with experience in only the business or only the engineering components of construction management will be considered. The successful candidate filling the position in Longview will coordinate continuing professional education programs and participate in local community activities in addition to teaching construction management courses.
