FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Title IV school code for UT Tyler?
UT Tyler's Title IV school code is 011163.
Is there another application to complete to receive financial aid
at UT Tyler?
The only application needed is the FAFSA. However, you
must submit any additional documents requested (tax forms, etc.) by
the Financial Aid Office. You must also be admitted as a regular degree seeking
student.
How do I apply for summer financial aid?
Students must register
for at least 3 credit hours AND complete a Summer Application at
www.uttyler.edu/financialaid.
Do I have to apply for financial aid every year?
Yes, your eligibility
for financial aid may change from year to year. If the family’s adjusted
gross income, household size or number attending college has changed,
your eligibility will also change. Renewal of your financial aid eligibility
also depends on your satisfactory academic progress.
What if I know I won’t be eligible for a grant and all I want is a
student loan?
All students must complete the FAFSA AND the Loans-By-Web process each academic year.
What do I do when I receive notification of my award?
You must go to Campus Connect to either accept or decline any financial aid programs
offered.
I transferred from another school. Does my aid transfer too?
You do not have to complete the FAFSA again for the same academic
year. However, UT Tyler’s Financial Aid Office will need the information
from your Student Aid Report (SAR). You will need to have our school’s
Title IV code (011163) added by submitting a copy of the original SAR
to our office OR by requesting corrections on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
If you need a copy of your original SAR, you may request a duplicate
through the FAFSA website or by calling 1-800-443-3243.
What happens if I withdraw from UT Tyler?
If you withdraw from all
classes prior to the 60% point of a semester in which you receive federal
financial aid, you may be subject to the Return of Title IV Funds Policy. I t is strongly advised
that you visit with a Financial Aid Counselor before withdrawing from
all courses.
How do I request re-evaluation of my financial aid based on full-time enrollment?
Visit our "Forms & Applications" page to download the Financial Aid Re-Evaluation form.
What if I am awarded loans for both Fall and Spring, but decide
to only attend one semester?
If you are awarded both Fall and Spring
loans, but only attend Fall, you must either contact your lender to cancel
your Spring disbursement or notify our office.
If you are awarded both Fall and Spring loans, but only plan to attend
Spring, you must contact our office BEFORE completing Loans By Web.
