Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?
Since my kids were about out of high school, my wife and I decided it was time to pursue my graduate education in healthcare. Choosing UT Tyler made the most sense after much research on competing programs. The cohort structure of the program appealed to me because all classes were specifically related to healthcare and were taught by professionals from within the healthcare industry. UT Tyler is geographically close to major healthcare institutions in both East Texas as well as the DFW area.
What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?
My careers goals are to make an impact in society in both the private and public sector. I intend to become a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and to rise to the level of CEO of a major hospital system. I also have an interest in working on healthcare policy issues at the government level. Teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level, where I can challenge the next generation of students to make their impact, also appeals to me.
What do you like most about UT Tyler?
I like the professors because of their availability to the graduate students, and vast amount of academic and practical knowledge they pass on to my classmates and me.
