We also have another hospital, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital where an additional 1700 women delivering, overall our system does over 14000 per year

What attracted you to this field?
I have a 29 year career in Nursing and Northwestern is always in the top 3 single site delivery/birthing volumes in the nation

What are your career aspirations?
Continue my leadership path, publish and make a difference in the lives of others
What's your work experience?
Nursing, staff and advance practice as a Perinatal/Womens Healthcare NP and Registered Sonographer in OB/GYN, as well as over 20 years of leadership as a manager and director, including my professional organization AWHONN where I served the board of directors for 7 years and was President in 2009. I have also served on committees for HRSA, HHS and the IHI where I have provided expert faculty work for the Perinatal Improvement Collaborative where as many as 75 hospital teams are working on improvement in perinatal care and outcomes
Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?
The faculty are fabulous and even when you are exhausted, take a break and come back at it! It's so worth the opportunity to learn and think differently and the faculty at UTTYLER is committed to making sure you get there!
