What attracted you to this field? The satisfaction of having a positive impact on patient care through mentoring student nurses.
Why did you choose UT Tyler?
UT Tyler has a great reputation and offers the convenience of online instruction with support on campus. Annual residency allows students to connect on a personal level with each other and with faculty.
What do you like most about UT Tyler?
The faculty. All of my professors were approachable and demonstrated excellence in mentoring graduate students.
What are your career aspirations?
A job well done.
What’s your work experience?
Ten years inpatient hematopoietic progenitor stem cell transplant nursing, 4 years instructing 1-4th year baccalaureate nurses, and currently am a clinical educator for a group of multi-specialty medical practices.
Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?
This program has stretched me further (academically) than I thought possible. You can make it! Be honest about your timeframe, put the work in, and enjoy the benefits.
