Professional & Personal Interests
The 2006-2007 academic year is my second year as a full-time faculty member in the UT Tyler Department of Health and Kinesiology. Prior to this position and after obtaining my Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from UT Tyler, I worked a number of years in the medical field in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and lipid clinic management before going into sales and clinical consulting for Berkeley HeartLab, Inc. These experiences helped me to develop a special interest in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease, and I especially enjoyed the education component so vital to successful patient management. I make an effort to try to impart some of this knowledge into the cirriculum of some of my courses. My personal interests include spending time with my husband and daughter, bible study, maintaining an active lifestyle through walking and weight lifting, and reading non-fiction books.
