Ornelas Hall Move-in Information
Move-In Day is Friday, August 22, 2008. These instructions are for students who will be moving into the Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Z. Ornelas Residence Hall ONLY.
Since there is minimal parking next to Ornelas Hall, the Dormitory Lot next to the hall has been designated an unloading area. Please box your belongings before you arrive on campus, and label each box with your name and room number. Please bring a dolly or cart if you believe you will need one, as we will not have them available. All vehicles in the Dormitory Lot must be attended at all times.
You can get to Ornelas Hall by turning on to Lake Drive from University Boulevard (Spur 248). The map below shows where Ornelas Hall is in relation to University Boulevard.
Ornelas Express Check-In will work like this:
Step 1: Pull into the circular drive in front of Ornelas Hall to pick up your check-in packet. Staff will bring the packet to your vehicle and direct you to the Dormitory Lot for unloading. To keep the flow of traffic moving, we ask that you keep to this arrival schedule:
- Students whose last names begin with A through L, please arrive between 8 AM and 12:30 PM every half hour (8:00, 8:30, 9:00, etc).
- Students whose last names begin with M through Z, please arrive between 12:30 PM and 5 PM every half hour (12:30, 1:00, 1:30, etc).
Step 2: Volunteers and staff are available to help unload your car into a designated spot. All vehicles in the Dormitory Lot must be attended at all times. If you require assistance during move-in due to a physical condition, please notify the volunteer when you get your check-in packet. Volunteers are available to help move your things from the Dormitory Lot to your room.
Step 3: After the vehicle has been unloaded, a volunteer will direct the vehicle to the north exit of the Dormitory Lot. This exit connects to a service road that will take you to parking lot 15.
Step 4: Complete any paperwork. Return your room inventory form and any other forms you are directed to return to the Ornelas Hall Front Desk.
