The majority of the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences
(BAAS) can be completed on-line.
The BAAS is a transfer degree program
only. The first two years is spent in preparing for a technical
field such as electronics, drafting and design, radiologic
technology, legal assistant, computer networking and a number of
other fields. Because of this diversity of backgrounds, the first
two years of this program cannot be specified.
Generally the student enters the BAAS program lacking some or
perhaps many of the core curriculum requirements. These
courses may be taken at the Tyler campus, at a regionally accredited
community college or university in the student’s geographic area, or
they can be taken on-line from a regionally accredited institution.
The program consists of a major field of 21
semester credit hours (SCH) and a support area of 15 SCH.
Students enrolling in the Bachelor of
Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) program are required to take 124
semester hours credit and fulfill the UT Tyler Baccalaureate Degree
Requirements prior to graduation as outlined in the 2006 – 2008
catalog. The following is a typical four-year semester schedule.
The assumption is that the student has a technical foundation at the
community college level and has not completed the core curriculum
requirements.
