Health Science
Technology Teacher Certification
|
|
|
In order to meet the requirements for qualifying for certification
in Health Science Technology teacher certification in the Department
of HRD and Technology at the University of Texas at Tyler one must:
- Hold a
bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Possess
licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally
recognized accrediting agency as a professional practitioner in
one or more health occupations for which instruction is offered.
The preparation program for licensure or certification must
require at least two years of formal education

- Have two years
of approved wage earning experience.
- Complete the
following courses:

Science Technology Education Professional Development
Conference and the Health Science Technology Education
Fall New Teacher/Mentor Training Workshop.

To initiate the
certification process, follow these steps:

complete a
Statement of Qualifications

- Attach:

A $45 check
or money order made out to The University
of Texas at Tyler
-
Official
transcripts of all colleges and/or universities
attended
-
Photocopies of
relevant certifications and/or licensures
-
Mail these items to:
The University of
Texas at Tyler Department of HRD and Technology (T&I Certification) 3900 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75799
Upon receipt of the
application materials, a Department of HRD and
Technology member will evaluate the applicant’s work
experience and transcripts. At that time an
unofficial Career Development Plan request form will
be sent to the College of Education Certification
Office.
The Certification Officer will review the
application materials and initiate an official
“Career Development Plan.” A copy of the Plan will
be mailed to the applicant. If you have any
questions regarding the status of the Plan, contact
