Dr. W. Clayton Allen, professor and chair of the School of Human Resource Development and Technology, has received the award for Distinguished Leadership from the Association of Texas Technology Education (ATTE). 

ATTE is an organization whose mission is to advocate for the study of Technology Education aimed at preparing the youth of Texas for success in a technological society.  ATTE annually recognizes one individual for their leadership and support of Technology Education in Texas. 

Over the years Dr. Allen has provided excellent programs for technology educators through his department at The University of Texas at Tyler,” said Bob Behnke President of ATTE President.  “He has also made key presentations, written important articles, and helped Technology Student Association contests in East Texas as a judge.” 

The Distinguished Leadership award is one of ATTE’s highest honors.  The Award is given only to members of the Association who contribute to the advancement and excellence of the technology profession through professional organizations such as ATTE and the International Technology Education Association.
