Dr. Fumo has more than 25 years of experience in academia. He is originally from Venezuela where he was an independent consulting engineer for five years, and a professor of Mechanical Engineering for 17 years. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Mississippi State University in 2008. Dr. Fumo has published more than 25 research papers in international journals, and has presented more than 30 papers in international conferences. Prior to coming to UT Tyler in August 2011 as an Assistant Professor, he was an Assistant Research Professor at Mississippi State University.
