Department of Art & Art History

The Meadows Gallery is located within the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center on the campus of The University of Texas at Tyler and features rotating exhibitions throughout the year. Exhibitions include the graduating BFA Senior Exhibition, graduating MFA student thesis exhibitions, faculty exhibitions, student juried exhibitions, invited guest artist exhibitions and our Annual International Exhibition.

The Annual International Exhibition takes place each January and is juried by an invited guest artist, historian or critic. Recent jurors include Cotter Luppi, Mark Williams, Barry Whistler, Richard Ash and Elizabeth Yarooz.

The Side Gallery, adjacent to The Meadows Gallery, offers a place for students to install solo or small group exhibitions throughout the semester.

The Fine Arts Complex Gallery located in the new Fine Arts Complex on the campus of The University of Texas at Tyler offers another place for undergraduates and graduate students to display their ongoing art work for review. This gallery is also used for graduating students to present their thesis exhibitions.

Students also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at many other campus venues including the University Center, the Muntz Library and the UT Tyler Palestine Campus.
