UT Tyler Chorale
The UT Tyler Chorale, conducted by Dr. John Petzet, is the
University's large choral
ensemble. It is open to any
student interested in singing, following prior conference with the
director. Performance
literature dates from the Renaissance to the present. Performances are given each semester. |

Patriot
Singers
The Patriot Singers includes up
to sixteen vocalists (SATB) and rhythm section. The group performs Broadway, spirituals, jazz and popular styles. Membership is by audition only.

The
Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is the University's leading instrumental
performance group, conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Emge. The group
consists of UT Tyler music and non-music majors.
Literature includes works in all styles: transcriptions, traditional
band works, recent works commissioned for the contemporary wind
ensemble, and works featuring outstanding student or professional
soloists. Two performances are scheduled each semester. Membership is by audition only. |

The
Tyler Community Band
The Community Band involves university and junior college
students as well as advanced players from Tyler and surrounding
communities. Literature is selected from traditional band
compositions and transcriptions as well as modern works. Entrance
is through director conference. The band rehearses
Tuesday evenings and performs twice each semester. It also offers an annual "Celebrate
America" concert in Bergfeld Park in conjunction with
Independence Day festivities. |

The Jazz
Patriots
Dr. John Webb, director. An instrumental combo with vocal
soloist(s), performing a variety of jazz repertoire. Open to
all university students by audition. |

Instrumental
Chamber Ensembles
The Music Department offers various instrumental chamber ensembles. Coached by applied music
faculty members, these groups offer students the opportunity to
enhance their individual playing skills, ensemble skills, and
confidence. Instrumental music education majors are exposed to
chamber literature suitable for use in the secondary schools.
