BRIAN BONDARI joined the UT Tyler faculty in 2009 as assistant professor of Music Theory and Composition. A composer and avid hiker, Bondari taught Music Theory, Composition, and Electronic Music at the University of Kansas before arriving at UT, and continually serves as a guest composer for the Oiniades Theatre Festival in Greece. Bondari was a student of James Barnes, Kip Haaheim, and Tayloe Harding, and earned degrees from Valdosta State University and the University of Kansas, where he received the Anthony B. Cius award in Composition.

Bondari's works are tuneful, rich in color and vigorous rhythms, and are often influenced by Greek and Persian mythologies. His works include dozens of pieces for soloists and ensembles representing choral, chamber, symphonic, and electronic forces. Recent commissions include a piece for flute and piano that was premiered in Carnegie Hall and subsequently performed in Europe.

In addition to his work in academia, Bondari maintains an interest in all things related to technology and currently serves as Senior Editor for the multi-author technology website, TipsFor.us.
