Auditions for Talent Awards take place during the spring prior to intended enrollment. Awards are renewable.

Patriot Singers

The premiere choral ensemble of the University of Texas at Tyler, the Patriot Singers perform vibrant and beautiful repertoire from sacred Renaissance works to contemporary vocal jazz. Among their many highly-attended concerts was a 2014 combined performance with the Grammy-winning Swingle Singers. In addition to formal performances with the Concert Chorale, the Patriot Singers perform in featured community and regional events as musical ambassadors for the university at large.

Membership is by audition and is open to students of any major. Please contact Dr. Rose. Click choir photos for current and past members and performance calendars.

Concert Chorale

The UT Tyler Concert Chorale was organized in 1975 as the first choral ensemble of the university (then called Texas Eastern University). Since that time, the Chorale has continued a strong performance tradition across a wide variety of styles and works. Concert Chorale performs in two to three large concerts each semester, drawing upon a rich heritage of music from "classical," folk, religious and multicultural traditions. Choral masterworks in recent years have included: Kleine Orgelmesse (Haydn), Jesu meine Freude (Bach), Gloria (Vivaldi), Mass in G (Schubert), Gloria (Rutter), Requiem (Rutter), Requiem (Fauré), Requiem (Duruflé).

No audition is required for Concert Chorale, however a short consultation with the director is needed to determine the singer's most confortable vocal range. Please contact Dr. Rose.
