The Patriot Singers
The Patriot Singers are the premiere choral ensemble of the University of Texas at Tyler, and perform beautiful and exciting repertoire from sacred Renaissance works to contemporary vocal jazz. The Patriot Singers perform in four to five Music Department choral concerts each year with the University Chorale, as well as in numerous feature community and regional performances as musical ambassadors for the University. Membership is by audition and is open students of any major.
University Chorale is open to any student, staff, or faculty member who is interested in singing and improving their vocal technique through an enriching, artistic choral experience. The University Chorale performs in two to three large concerts each semester, drawing upon a rich heritage of music from "classical," folk, spiritual and religious traditions. Choral masterworks are regularly performed and in recent years have included: Gloria (Vivaldi), Mass in G (Schubert), Gloria (Rutter), Requiem (Rutter), Requiem (Fauré), Requiem (Duruflé).
The University Chorale may also divide into seperate Women's and Men's Choruses, specializing in an outstanding repertoire of music for upper and lower voices.
No audition is required, however a short consultation with the director is needed to determine the singer's most confortable vocal range.
