UT Tyler School of Performing Arts
UT Tyler Wind Ensemble
The UT Tyler Wind Ensemble is the university's leading instrumental performance group, conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Emge. The group consists of UT Tyler music and non-music majors. Literature includes works in all styles: transcriptions, traditional band works, recent works commissioned for the contemporary wind ensemble, and works featuring outstanding student or professional soloists. Two performances are scheduled each semester. Membership is by audition only.
UT Tyler Jazz Ensemble
The UT Tyler Jazz Ensemble is a traditional big band directed by faculty member Sarah Roberts. Performing exceptional music of the past as well as more recent repertoire, the ensemble performs frequently on campus and in other venues.
UT Tyler Jazz Combo
Also directed by Sarah Roberts, the Jazz Combo performs a variety of jazz repertoire, often with vocal soloist(s). Open to all university students by audition.
The School of Performing Arts offers various instrumental chamber ensembles. Coached by applied music faculty members, these groups offer students the opportunity to enhance their individual performance and ensemble skills. Instrumental music education majors are exposed to chamber literature suitable for use in the secondary schools. Chamber opportunities include:

- Woodwind Quintet
- Brass Quintet
- String Ensemble
