Instrumental Ensembles

UT Tyler Wind Ensemble
Wind EnsembleThe UT Tyler Wind Ensemble is the university's leading instrumental performance group, conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Emge. The group consists of UT Tyler music and non-music majors. Literature includes works in all styles: transcriptions, traditional band works, recent works commissioned for the contemporary wind ensemble, and works featuring outstanding student or professional soloists. Two performances are scheduled each semester. Membership is by audition only.


Chamber Ensembles

The School of Performing Arts offers various instrumental chamber ensembles. Coached by applied music faculty members, these groups offer students the opportunity to enhance their individual performance and ensemble skills. Chamber opportunities include:

  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Guitar Ensemble
  • Woodwind Quintet
  • Brass Quintet
  • String Ensemble
