'WOW' Activities To Introduce Freshmen To UT Tyler

Weekend of Welcome 2001About 200 to 225 incoming freshmen are expected to take part in Weekend of Welcome 2001 orientation activities this summer at The University of Texas at Tyler, said Mark W. Matthews, student development specialist and director of freshman orientation.

WOW sessions are scheduled for June 22-23 and July 27-28. Each two-day session is designed to introduce students - and their parents - to UT Tyler academic programs and the campus environment. More...

UT Tyler Web Site Update

Two new pages have been added to the Faculty and Staff section of the Web site. You can now find the faculty departments and the faculty home pages linked from this section.





    
 

Turning Returning, an exhibit of recent works by ceramic artists Gary C. Hatcher and Daphne Roehr Hatcher, can be viewed at The Meadows Gallery. The exhibit, presented by the Art Program and the gallery, continues through Aug. 28. Among the pieces exhibited in this body of work, viewers will find familiar imagery from the past, along with some that are not so familiar. The Hatchers will give a gallery talk on their artwork during a reception at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24

Riter Millennium Carillon Tower – Framework was constructed during the week of June 4 for installation of clocks. Cast stone installation to continue. Projected completion date: July 2001. Photos

Health and Kinesiology Physical Education Building - Drawings are in the early "construction document'' stage and are slated to be ready for bid in October 2001. Projected completion date: August 2003.

HPE parking lot and tennis court projects were re-bid. Bids were due June 7. Projected completion date: Sept. 1.
