Summer Research
John Montgomery
(front), a senior in the UT Tyler mechanical engineering program,
takes data associated with a President's Faculty Summer Research
Grant awarded to Dr. Jeffrey R. Mountain (also pictured), assistant
professor of mechanical engineering. The project involves the
development and testing of a Fuzzy Logic Motor Control Strategy
using inexpensive, 8-bit microcontrollers. Montgomery was one
of two students who assisted Dr. Mountain over the summer with
the hardware and software developed for the project.
