Computer Science Students Participate in Regional Contest

Two teams of UT Tyler students participated in the 2002 ACM South Central USA Regional Programming Contest in Baton Rouge, La., Nov. 1-2.

Seventy-three teams from 35 schools participated in the contest sponsored by IBM.

Mikhail Iakhiaev, Wing-On Koo and Jason May formed the team UT Tyler – The Foreigners, while Matthew Czerwinski, Louie Downey III and Adam Reed were on the team UT Tyler – SkyNet. Ramsey Williams served as an alternate.

The students were accompanied by their coach, Dr. Artur Mikitiuk, assistant professor of computer science.
