Students Help in Food Bank Drive
UT Tyler
advanced ceramic art students are participating in a North
Texas Food Bank drive by making more than 150 bowls for the
Empty Bowls project.
The Fourth
Annual Empty Bowls luncheon will be 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Feb. 22
at the Meyerson Symphony Hall in Dallas. Area restaurants
will provide soup and bread to be served in handmade bowls
to those who make a contribution to the food bank. The contributors
will get to keep the bowls, which are being donated by Texas
ceramic artists. More

Tyler Theatre Presents 'Rosalis'
The University
of Texas at Tyler Theatre Program will present "Rosalis,''
an original chamber theatre play chronicling the life of Tylerite
Rosalis Montgomery, Feb. 14-17, Dr. James A. Hatfield, UT
Tyler professor and director of theatre, has announced.
The premier
performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14-16 and 2:30 p.m.
Feb. 17 in the Braithwaite Recital Hall of the R. Don Cowan
Fine and Performing Arts Center. A reception for Mrs. Montgomery
and the audience will follow the Feb. 17 performance. More>>
Patriot
Tennis Team Wins Dual Meet Against Le Tourneau
The UT
Tyler Patriot Tennis team won all tennis matches in its first
dual meet of the year against Le Tourneau University Jan.
26.
UT Tyler
is currently competing as an "independent school"
pending NCAA membership. Le Tourneau competes in the American
Southwest Conference NCAA Division 3.

Beta to Conduct Tree Planting Activity
The Kappa
Xi Chapter of Tri Beta will plant oak trees at The University
of Texas at Tyler Wednesday, Feb. 13, in remembrance of Sept.
11.
The planting
will take place from 4-6 p.m. at the parking lot of the Sciences
and Mathematics Building (next to the Cowan Center). Pizza
and beverages will be provided.
Breedlove
Nursery & Landscape Co. and Thompson-Hills Nursery donated
five oak trees to be planted.
Engineers
Week Banquet to be Held February 21 in Kilgore
The Annual
National Engineers Week (East Texas) Banquet is scheduled
for 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Student Center Ballroom
at Kilgore College.
The banquet
speaker will be Doug Ashcraft, PE, SE, a principal and stockholder
with Walter P. Moore and Associates in Houston. Ashcraft will
speak on the design and construction of Enron Field, the new
