Office of News and Information Receives 5 Awards at ADDY Competition

The UT Tyler Office of News and Information received top honors at the East Texas Advertising Federation ADDY Awards, held Saturday at the Tyler Woman's Building.

The annual competition recognizes creative excellence in the art of advertising across the East Texas area.

Awards presented to UT Tyler included:

The Dub and B.J. Riter Millennium Carillon Tower and Plaza Campaign received the ADDY Award in the Mixed Media Campaigns, Business to Consumer - Local category. The ADDY is the highest award given by ETAF

Contributors were: Carolyn Halbert, print design; Robin Kelly, Web site design; Emily Battle and Beverley Golden, copywriters; Randy Mallory, Delk Photography, Clarence Shackelford and The Verdin Co., photography.
 
The UT Tyler Web Site received the Silver Award, the top award in the Interactive Media, Web Site - Consumer category.

Contributors were: Robin Kelly, Web site design; and Dr. Dale Lunsford, project coordinator.

 

The Circle of Friends Campaign received the Silver Award, the top award in the Mixed Media Campaigns, Business to Consumer - Regional/National category.

Contributors were: Carolyn Halbert, design; Robin Kelly, Web design; Susan Thomae-Morphew, copywriter; and Clarence Shackelford, photography.

The Cowan Center Fifth Season Web Site received the Silver Award, the top award in the Advertising for the Arts, Broadcast/Electronic Media category.

Contributors were: Robin Kelly, Web site design; Carolyn Halbert, print design; and Susan Thomae-Morphew, copywriter.

The Cowan Center Fifth Season Campaign received the Bronze Award in the Advertising for the Arts, Campaign category.

Contributors were: Carolyn Halbert, art director, and Susan Thomae-Morphew, copywriter.

In addition, an events trailer designed by Carolyn Halbert while employed with Brookshire Grocery Co. was awarded an ADDY in the Out of Home, Vehicle Exterior category.

The ETAF competition is the first of a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. Gold and Silver ADDY winners will be forwarded to the District 10 ADDY Awards Competition. District winners will proceed to national finals.

ETAF is a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, which protects and promotes the well-being of advertising through a nationally coordinated grassroots network of advertisers, agencies, media companies, local advertising associations and college chapters.
